Ballot set for May 21 Primary Election
Democrats have filed for nearly all partisan positions that will appear on the May 21 Primary Election ballot. Filing deadline was March 12.
Recent filings include three Democratic candidates for State Representative: Nina Brenner, a retired systems and database analyst and Scio-Lacomb-area resident, House District 11; Terrence Virnig of Millersburg, a retired mechanical and environmental engineer, House District 15; and David W. Beem of Salem, co-owner of Overhead Door Company of Salem, House District 17, which includes portions of Linn County.
David Scranage, a retired electrical engineer and longtime Linn County Democrat who lives in the Halsey area, has filed for Position 2 on the Linn County Board of Commissioners.
No Democrat filed for Oregon Senate District 9, House District 12 and Linn Commissioner, Position 3.

The Democratic Primary also has the following races with two or more candidates: 5th Congressional District, Janelle Bynum and Jamie McLeod-Skinner; Oregon Secretary of State, a five-way race that includes current State Treasurer Tobias Read and State Sen. James Manning Jr.; and State Treasurer, Jeff Gudman and Elizabeth Steiner.

About the Linn County Democratic Central Committee
The Linn County Democratic Central Committee (LCDCC) of Oregon welcomes all those, regardless of party affiliation, who support our ideals. We’re an all-volunteer organization that works hard to elect Democrats to represent the people of Linn County at local, state and national levels. Our meetings are generally held on the first Thursday of the month. The next meeting will be at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, April 4, at Santiam Place Event Hall, 139 S Main St, Lebanon, and on Zoom.
